State troopers said they are seeing a rise in the number of indoor marijuana growing operations.

According to the Department of Public Safety, plants grown hydroponically have a higher concentration of delta-9-tetrahydrocanna or THC than those grown outdoors.

DPS troopers raided three Austin area homes Wednesday. According to officials, the raid seized 251 high-grade marijuana plants, plus more than 10 pounds of harvested pot.

Joel and Samuel Redden of Manor, Austinite Ronald Kinsell, and Ryan Sansom also of Austin were arrested.

DPS said it's uncertain if the operations raided this week are related to a pair of indoor grows operations raided earlier this month.

DPS asks that anyone with information on suspected marijuana cultivation to call the DPS hotline at (800) 868-6274.
